Adamstown’s fifth annual AppleUmpkin Fest will be held on Saturday, October 18. The event will be held at the Adamstown Community Grove, along Rte. 272, adjacent to the community swimming pool.
The festival will begin at 8 a.m. with a flea market and craft sale. A light breakfast will also be available.
Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Featured items on the menu include homemade chicken corn noodle soup, grilled cheeseburgers, hot dogs and apple dumplings.
Individually-packaged apple dumplings are $3 each or 4/$10.00 and may be pre-ordered at the Adamstown Borough office daily from 9-4 and on Saturday mornings at the Adamstown Post Office. A limited number of dumplings will also be sold at the festival.
The day’s focus is on inexpensive family fun. There will be games for children as well as hay rides, pumpkin chucking contest, face painting, scarecrow stuffing, pumpkin decorating, dime pitch and a haunted house. New this year will be a presentation by ZooAmerica entitled “Creatures of the Night.”
